Heavenly Peanut Butter Chocolate Layer Dessert

3. Create the Chocolate Ganache:

  1. In a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, heat the heavy cream until it just begins to steam—avoid boiling to prevent separation. If microwaving, heat in 15-second intervals, checking and stirring in between.
  2. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips in a medium bowl. Let the mixture sit undisturbed for 2 minutes to allow the chocolate to soften fully.
  3. Stir gently until the mixture becomes smooth and glossy. If needed, microwave for an additional 5–10 seconds to fully melt any remaining chocolate bits. Let the ganache cool slightly for a few minutes so it doesn’t melt the peanut butter layer when added.
  4. Pour the ganache over the peanut butter layer, spreading it evenly to cover the entire surface. A gentle tilt of the pan helps distribute it naturally.

4. Chill and Serve:

  1. Refrigerate the assembled dessert for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow all the layers to firm up and flavors to meld.
  2. Before serving, optionally sprinkle chopped peanuts or Reese’s pieces over the ganache for added texture and visual appeal.
  3. Slice into squares using a sharp knife. For clean cuts, wipe the blade between slices. Serve chilled.

Storage Tips

Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. This dessert holds its shape well when chilled. Avoid freezing, as the texture of the mousse and ganache may change.
